Gorgeous old industrial workbench.

Made by Gedore/Dowidat in the 1950's

The history of Gedore starts in 1919 when 3 brothers Otto, Karl and Willi decide to start their own toolfactory in Remscheid, Germany. 

The name Gedore is short for GEbruder DOwidat REmscheid.

One of the 3 brothers dies in the 1930's and the 2 remaining brothers stay in the company until 1949 when one of the brothers gets into an argument with the other one and starts his own company under the name Dowidat.

This workbench is made by both companies, Gedore AND Dowidat.

Both almost identical except the handles on the drawers and the logo.

This piece is in nice original condition considering its age. The beechwood worktop has a crack on the right front side.
